Ginger shot

This super-concentrated burst of ginger juice has numerous health benefits. It's anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting and has antioxidant properties. Ginger is indeed a true hero in the world of superfoods and ginger shots have become quite popular at the grocery stores during the winter months. Yet it is really easy to make it at home. All you need is a high-powered blender and a fine-mesh strainer.

Ingredients

  • 70g ginger

  • 70g freshly squeezed lemon or orange juice (2-3 lemons/oranges)

  • 90g happy maple Goût Délicat

  • 250g water

  • optional: 1-2 tsp of turmeric

How to

  1. Cut the ginger in slices. You can leave the skin on if it's organic.

  2. Add a glass of water and blend in a mixer until smooth.

  3. Add the rest of the water and bring to a boil. Then let simmer for 8-10 minutes.

  4. Pour the liquid into a fine strainer and squeeze with a spoon.

  5. Let cool down for 15-20 minutes.

  6. Then add lemon juice and happy maple syrup (and turmermic) and mix well.

  7. Pour in a clean bottle.

  8. Keep in the fridge. The ginger shot can be stored for about a week.
