If you want to surprise someone on Valentine's Day, here's a great recipe. It's simple, not a sugar bomb thanks to the use of happy maple syrup as a sweetener and hey: how pretty do the little roses look! In addition, they taste just heavenly. Of course, our recipe is also perfect if you need another dessert for a menu. Or maybe as a special treat for coffee in the afternoon.
Ingredients for 8 roses
2 large red apples or 3 smaller ones
1 puff pastry roll
juice from ½ a lemon
happy maple Goût Riche
pinch of salt
How to
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Butter a muffin tin.
Cut the apples in half, remove the core and slice them thinly with a mandolin.
Place the slices in a bowl and add the lemon juice, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of maple syrup. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Cut the pastry into 8 strips.
Place the apple slices on the top half of the strip, overlapping the dough. Fold the bottom half of the dough over the apples. Gently roll the strip on itself, pressing it tightly together.
Immediately place in the muffin tin. Repeat until all the dough is used up.
Add a teaspoon of maple syrup on each rose.
Bake for 30 minutes. To avoid burning the apples, place a baking pan on the upper part of the oven with 15-20 minutes of baking. Happy Valentine's Day!
